QR Code Attendance System

Complete guide to using QR codes for attendance tracking with offline sync capabilities.

The QR Code Attendance System lets teachers take attendance quickly and lets students mark themselves present by scanning a code with their device. It also works without internet and synchronizes automatically when the connection returns.

For Teachers

Start attendance for a lesson

  1. Open your lessons.
  2. Select the lesson you are teaching.
  3. Choose QR Code Attendance.
  4. Show the QR code on your screen for the class to scan.
  5. Watch the attendance list update as students scan.

Tips:

  • If needed, create a new QR code during the lesson.
  • The code expires after a short time for security. Create a new one if students cannot scan it.
  • After the lesson, review the attendance list.

For Students

Mark your attendance

  1. Open your attendance.
  2. Choose Scan QR.
  3. Allow camera access if asked.
  4. Point your camera at the QR code on the teacher’s screen.
  5. Wait for the confirmation message.

Offline:

  • If you don’t have internet, your scan is saved on your device.
  • When you go online, your attendance is sent automatically.

Troubleshooting

QR code not scanning:

  • Allow camera access.
  • Move closer and center the code in the view.
  • Improve lighting and avoid screen glare.
  • Ask the teacher to create a new code if it has expired.

Offline sync issues:

  • Connect to the internet and reopen the attendance.
  • Keep the app open for a moment so it can finish syncing.

Invalid or expired code:

  • Ask the teacher for a new code and try again.

Note: QR Code attendance complements traditional methods. Keep a backup in case of technical issues.
