Video Calls

Administrative proof that lessons were held (IT Bootcamp only).

Video calls let teachers and students meet directly in the dashboard.

Note: Available only for IT Bootcamp organizations. Purpose: administrative source of truth that lessons were held.

Teacher Workflow

Before the lesson

  1. Open your lesson from the dashboard.
  2. Check your camera and microphone in your browser if prompted.

Start the call

  1. On the lesson page, select the option to start a video call.
  2. Wait a moment while the call initializes.
  3. Confirm you can see your own video preview and microphone level.

Have students join

  1. Ask students to open the same lesson from their dashboard.
  2. Students use the on‑screen join control to enter the call.
  3. If a call ID is requested, it appears automatically for both sides.

Manage the call

  • Use the microphone control to mute/unmute yourself.
  • Use the camera control to turn your camera on/off.
  • Open the participants list to see who is in the call.
  • If a participant has connection issues, have them rejoin from the lesson page.

Record the lesson (IT Bootcamp)

  1. If recording is available, use the record control to start/stop recording.
  2. Recording is only for administrative proof that the lesson occurred.
  3. When the call ends, recordings are processed automatically.

End the call

  1. Use the leave/end control to finish the call for yourself.
  2. Remind students the call is over.

Troubleshooting

  • If the call is initializing, wait a few seconds and try again.
  • If you can’t join, allow browser access to camera and microphone.
  • If students can’t find the call, have them open the correct lesson and use join.
  • If audio or video is missing, toggle the control off and on, then rejoin if needed.
